1-Day Tarangire NP Trip
Journey Highlights
You’ll join this day trip heading to Tarangire National Park. The park is renowned for its large concentrations of elephants and can also spot predators (lions, cheetahs, and leopards). This is the second-best alternative (only behind the Ngorongoro day trip) for a day safari from Arusha.
Day by Day
Arrival
You’ll be collected from the airport or your hotel as arranged.
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park, Return to Arusha
We will pick you up from your hotel at around 7:30am and, after meeting your guide, begin the drive to Tarangire National Park (about 1 hour 45 minutes). Tarangire is known for its beautiful landscapes, ancient baobab trees, and the largest concentration of elephants in Tanzania, offering a great chance to observe elephant families up close. You will enjoy a game drive through the park, following wildlife sightings as shared by guides, with herbivores such as giraffes, zebras, and wildebeests commonly seen, while predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards may appear depending on the day’s movement. Later, you will stop at the Tarangire River picnic site for lunch while enjoying the river scenery and nearby wildlife, with playful monkeys and baboons often around the area. After lunch, continue game viewing before exiting the park at around 4:30pm and driving back to Arusha.
